Kenneth A. Cawkell

Mr. Cawkell obtained his LL.B. from the University of Alberta in 1978 and was called to the Alberta and British Columbia Bar Associations. He initially worked with a large Edmonton firm (Stratton, Lucas & Edwards) in the banking group, practicing in bankruptcy and corporate reorganization, and subsequently with one of the oldest firms in Vancouver (Guild, Yule), practicing in corporate finance. After spending a year project consulting, Mr. Cawkell co-founded Cawkell Brodie, where he acts as managing partner. His current practice focuses on intellectual property, technol­ogy transfer agreements, transaction structuring and securities law. Mr. Cawkell has acted both as underwriter's counsel and for the securities issuer.

J. Scott Brodie

Mr. Brodie obtained his LL.B from the University of Victoria in 1982 and was called to the bar of British Columbia in 1983. He initially worked with an established Victoria firm and gained valued experience working in the areas of commercial and secured transactions, wills, estates and real estate. In 1986 he moved to Vancouver to join a securities firm to handle the personal business affairs of securities clientele. This entailed primarily estate planning, wills and estates, and real estate matters as well as business transactions involving closely held corporations and personal holding companies. In 1991 he joined Ken Cawkell and Cawkell Brodie LLP was founded.  His current practice focuses on personal business matters including private mortgages, and commercial transactions, syndicated and conventional real estate transactions, estate planning and wealth preservation.

Reza Sadeghi-Yekta

Mr. Sadeghi-Yekta obtained his LL.B from the University of Manchester in 2011 and was called to the bar of British Columbia.  He initially worked with an established Victoria firm (Carfra Lawton LLP), working in the areas of litigation and insurance defense. In 2015, he joined a medium size firm (Jawl Bundon LLP) handling personal business matters including estate planning and wealth preservation, real estate, and corporate. This entailed primarily estate planning, wills and estates, and real estate matters as well as business transactions involving closely held corporations and personal holding companies. In 2017, he joined Cawkell Brodie.  His current practice focuses on corporate, estate planning and wealth preservation, real estate, and commercial transactions.
